The date for the 38th annual Eisenhower Pilgrimage at the Eisenhower Museum and Library in Abilene is Saturday, October 12. This event is open to the public. All Posts, Auxiliary Units, SAL Squadrons, the Districts and other Legion Family organizations are encouraged to attend and participate in this year’s event.
With a donation of $10, a Post, Unit or Squadron can lay a Memorial Rose at the base of Eisenhower's statue during the ceremony. District, State and National level organizations can lay a Memorial Wreath for $20. If no representative is present to lay the wreath or rose, one will be laid in that organization's name.
Saturday’s program will start at approximately 9:30 AM, one hour ealier than in previous years, immediately following the Presidential wreath laying ceremony.
The Eisenhower Library will be celebrating the completion of new several new exhibits. After the pilgrimage, there will be a dedication ceremony. Entry to the Museum will be free all day on Saturday as a result.
American Legion Homecoming Luncheon

Greyhound Hall of Fame, Abilene KS
Immediately following the Eisenhower Pilgrimage, approximately 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, a homecoming luncheon will be held at the Greyhound Hall of Fame at 407 S. Buckelye in Abilene to honor Dan Wiley, American Legion Department Vice Commander; Karen Hasting, Department Auxiliary Vice President; and Terry Harris, Department SAL Vice Commander. The cost for the luncheon is $15.00 per person in advance or $18.00 at the door. To reserve a seat, print and mail this coupon with payment to the address indicated by October 8.
